Tragedy In Saudi (Credit: OpenAI)
New Delhi: The accident happened late at night when most passengers were asleep. Their bus was returning from Umrah. It was moving toward Medina. Reports say the vehicle suddenly hit a fuel tanker. The impact caused a huge fire within seconds. The passengers had no chance to escape in time. The flames spread faster than anyone expected.
Eighteen members from the same Hyderabad family were on this journey. Nine were adults and nine were children. They had completed Umrah and were excited to return home. Relatives said they spoke to them just hours before the crash. No one imagined this would be their last call. The family was looking forward to a reunion. Instead, their relatives received heartbreaking news.
A family member named Asif shared painful details. He said his sister-in-law, brother-in-law, their children, and nieces were all travelling together. They left eight days earlier. They had planned to return on Saturday. Their Umrah rituals were completed peacefully. No one sensed any danger. They boarded the bus believing they would reach Medina safely. Their return tickets were already booked.
Asif identified several relatives. Among them were seventy-year-old Naseeruddin and his wife Akhtar Begum. Their son Salauddin also died. Daughters Amina, Rizwana, and Shabana were lost too. Their children were among the youngest victims. When neighbours opened their locked house in Hyderabad, loud cries filled the lane. No one in the area could control their emotions. The family was deeply loved by everyone.
Police reports say the bus collided with a diesel tanker about thirty kilometres from Medina. The tanker carried highly flammable fuel. The crash caused leakage within seconds. Sparks from the collision ignited the fuel. The fire consumed the bus rapidly. Thick smoke filled the interior. Passengers could not find exits in the darkness. Most were trapped before they woke up fully.
The accident took place past 1:30 am. Many passengers were resting with seat belts on. The sudden flames blocked the doors. The heat was too intense for anyone to break windows. Some passengers tried calling for help but the phone signals were weak. Rescuers reached as fast as they could. But the bus was already destroyed. Only a few bodies could be recovered intact.
Indian authorities are coordinating with Saudi officials. Identification of victims is in progress. Arrangements are being made to bring bodies home. Local leaders in Hyderabad are helping relatives with paperwork. The community is preparing for mass funerals. Counselors have been sent to support grieving families. The tragedy has shaken the entire city. Everyone is demanding stricter safety checks for pilgrimage travel.
